Gaming enthusiasts can look forward to enjoying a newly revamped casino at the Graceland Hotel Casino Country Club this summer. The upgrades include expansion of the main floor casino smoking area and the opening of a new Prive.

The main casino floor smoking area will boast additional 3 Roulette tables, 1 Blackjack and 1 Poker tables. 44 slot machines will be relocated from the Manhattan smoking lounge into the main casino floor to make way for the new Prive which will feature new chairs and installation of new TV sets. Other additions includes 6 AGI 5c denominations machines, with a flexi link progressive, 6 Bally machines of which 3 will be linked to a progressive with a base value of R50 000, 18 IGT 10c and multi denomination machines and 10 Aristocrat machines with 2c, 5c and 10c denomination.

The new Prive, scheduled for completion in early December 2015, will feature 38 high denomination machines, 2 Roulettes, 1 Poker and 1 Blackjack tables, a fully serviced walk-in bar and a lounge area that can be used to host high-end functions and events.

The R10.8 million casino face-lift will see the total number of slot machines in the smoking area increase from 78 to 122 and the main-floor non-smoking area machines will increase from 130 to 150. The reduced number of slots and tables in the new Prive will ensure a spacious and exclusive feel for the venue.

The casino upgrades forms part of the 2014/15 renovation project by Peermont Hotels Casinos and Resorts which were completed in different phases since October 2014. Other renovations to the resort includes the upgrades of the presidential, the junior suites as well as 3 floors of the four star Peermont Walmont hotel, the addition of Madison’s Bistro and Family restaurant, a fresh coat of paint for the hotel exterior, upgrades to the Augusta Club Lounge and a new sprinkler irrigation system on the Gary Player-designed 18-hole championship inland links golf course, the relocation and expansion of the spa facilities, cosmetic touch-ups and installation of a new large flat screen TV in the ever-popular Buffalo Bills showbar.

Guests looking for a midsummer family get away, can visit the resort and book into the four star Peermont Walmont Hotel and experience elegance and style with the Summer Funstays packages from as little as R467 per person per night. The package includes accommodation in a classic room, breakfast in the Blue Bayou restaurant, a R50 meal voucher per person and R 50 FreePlay per stay.
