Members of City Boyz FC, an under-21 football club in Mpumalanga, are a few steps closer to making their dreams of playing football professionally a reality, thanks to a generous donation made by Secunda-based resort, Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club.

“The passion these young men displayed for the beautiful game, and the way they play their hearts, was inspiring to say the least,” says Acting General Manager, Pieter de Villiers. “They deserve to be able to go for gold and compete without being bogged down by smaller details. We look forward to seeing the City Boyz grow from strength to strength and live up to their incredible potential and talent.”

The team recently finished third in the last season of the SAB league, with two of the players scouted to play for the Free State Stars Premier league team and the ABC Motsepe league for Mpumalanga in Witbank. The players received new soccer kits, as well as upgraded sports equipment for training purposes, transportation for out of town matches and refreshments for all matches. The new season’s sponsorship will also include meals for home and away games, affiliation costs and purchasing of new sports equipment.
